The Arts Club of Chicago The Collection 19161996

Founded in 1916, the Art Club of Chicago has formed a collection of modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, and works on paper, as well as rare examples of Asian and African art. This text documents over 100 objects, with essays on selected individual pieces by museum curators and scholars, a comprehensive chronology of exhibitions, and histories of the club's collecting, programmes and avant-garde patronage.
