The Battle of Sleeping Lady

The Sanctuary Guardians travel to the Alaskan Sanctuary and discover that theirs is not the only Sanctuary as well as finding out that not all Sanctuaries are the same. In Alaska the Sanctuary is located on the bottom of the Prince William Sound just outside the kingdom of the merpeople. There they learn that Sanctuary answer to the mythical Tribunal and that a few on the Tribunal would love nothing more than to get rid of Sanctuary all together, which means that Sanctuary has to be careful. They meet a pixie princess whose human form is that of a very eccentric older lady with an interesting companion as well as mystical fiddle player who knows more than she is letting on, something the Guardians have become familiar with.

The pixie princess is kidnapped by the shadows at the command of a mysterious woman in a cloak and it is the job of the Sanctuary to find her safely so that she could come home to her parents, or the pixie King and Queen will hold Sanctuary accountable. They work to discover why the shadows want the princess so bad as well as trying to figure out why the shadows are now able to shift their shape before it is too late.

On the islands of the sound they meet many other interesting mythicals, a nymph who wears a coat of live furry creatures whose teeth can pierce that of a gnome that was unfortunate to set up traps in her domain as well their mystical fiddler who acts as if she is helping them even though they walk away with more questions.

When they learn that the princess is the protector of the legend of The Sleeping Lady they discover why the shadows want her, they want to wake the sleeping lady. Heading to battle the shadows the Guardians are put at a disadvantage when a flower bulb appears and takes off with Savanna, leaving them one Guardian short. Reluctantly they head off into battle praying that their comrade is safe and will return to them. During the battle when they feel as if they are losing Vanna does appear and she has help. Another powerful being that was cursed, this time as a tree. This person was able to put the Sleeping Lady back to sleep and let the Guardians with the other Arions take on the cloaked lady and send her packing.

They won the battle but there is still the war, heading home they tell of their adventures but it seems as if Ira is more irritated that they were able to get Claw's banishment revoked and Lucian seemed to be holding back more information. Will they ever discover the truth for themselves?
