The Beauty of Summer

Summer Maldonado is a gorgeous woman who has lived an enviable upper-middle class life as a drive-time jazz radio deejay, and then later as an executive at an upstart Richmond, Virginia video production firm. Her firm has all the top video contracts, including public relations at the local gas utility, where she met her boyfriend Xavier. He is handsome, rich, charismatic and debonair-the type of man most women would die for.

And Summer almost does.

After Xavier breaks up with her and starts seeing a sexy woman who was once her co-worker, Summer is distraught, confused and devastated. Summer sets her eye on reclaiming her man, only to send her life into further turmoil when he gives her mixed signals about his affections for her, and when she tries desperately to rekindle the loving and wonderful moments they once had.

As Summer grapples with her life in the wake of her breakup, she learns crucial life lessons along the way, including realizing that possessing beauty on the outside is not nearly as important as beauty on the inside.
