In an effort to enable their son to be closer to his friend Rachel, the parents of Bobby Garrett enroll him in a Catholic boarding school situated in the northwest corner of Illinois. A frightful experience, early in his first year, develops a lasting bond between Bobby, four other students, and several members of the religious community. Although determined to accelerate his studies, in order to obtain a diploma in three years, the teenager is distracted by the sexual anxieties he experiences whenever he does visit with Rachel. Will the respect they have for each other help them through these difficult times?
