The Boscobel Tracts

This collection of documents recounts the dramatic events surrounding the escape of King Charles II after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The tracts offer a firsthand account of Charles's flight through the English countryside, his encounters with loyalist supporters, and his eventual safe passage to France. The collection also includes letters, maps, and other ephemera related to the period.
