The Buffalo Kid

It's a brutally cold day in Buffalo, New York, one of those days when folks are hunkered down inside their homes, but for 71-year-old John Ross, a warm house, safe from the screeching winds which assault the city from the north, there is no warmth. For those who even notice him, a homeless man, wearing tattered clothes, thin and gaunt, with a thick gray beard covering most of his face, he is referred to as the Buffalo Kid, just another vagrant, who lives under a bridge in a cardboard box.
