The Cambridge and Saybrook Platforms of Church Discipline

This volume presents two key documents in the history of American Protestantism: the Cambridge Platform of Church Discipline, adopted by the Puritan churches in Massachusetts in 1648, and the Saybrook Platform, adopted by the Congregational churches in Connecticut in 1708. Together with the Confession of Faith of the New England churches and the Heads of Agreement assented to by the Presbyterians and Congregationalists in England, these documents provide a window into the development of Protestant theology and church governance in colonial America.
