The Story began with William Campion in Nottingham in the 1860's. He built textile machinery and ran a mill in the Lace market. By the 1870's the bicycle craze was established in England. Links to this with Thomas Humber are explored along with other notable characters of the period. The logo, durability, lightness, speed and strength, related to bicycles, forecars, motorcycles, and light cars. Originally fitted with Campion engines, other makes were introduced. The Great War is discussed which led to sidecar ambulances and England's first motorcycle taxi. Throughout their production the bicycles and motorcycles were proven in competition both at home and abroad. When recession took hold they were taken over by Curry's, and from 1930 the marque was never to be seen again. This is the first record of their complete history, with many original photographs. A must for local historians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and for Nottingham.
