The Captive and the King's Will

The Scriptures speak of those who, once coming to believe in the Bible as true and putting their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, then make the decision to…

… not live the rest of [their earthly lives] for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 1 Peter 4:2 NIV

But what is God’s will?

This book follows the life of Simon Peter, a disciple of Jesus. He found himself captive to two kings: one by choice, the other against his will. King Herod arrested Peter and threw him in jail. Herod’s will was that Peter be beheaded.

But Peter, by choice, found himself captivated by another King, who speaking in spiritual terms said:

This is the will of God, your sanctification. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 ESV

But what is that? What is sanctification?

This book builds on previous books* written by John R. Cross. It is truly a sequel — the next step — in learning about God and the Bible. The focus of this book is the identity of the Holy Spirit and his work in the life of a Bible believer.
