The Christmas Messenger

"The Christmas Messenger" is about an ICU nurse, Kristen Mathews, who's struggling with her own beliefs, her single life and the real meaning of Christmas. Among her patients is a critically ill woman, Emma, whose career as a young life-flight nurse ended because of a drunk driver, who crashed into her car during her honeymoon. The accident killed Emma's husband and caused her severe injuries. However, that tragedy taught Emma many important lessons about having faith, living a Christ-centered life, and remembering the sacredness of Christmas, all of which she shares with Kristen. The author, Shelley Wood, has worked as a physician assistant for 30 years. She also has earned a doctorate in health education. She's taught at university courses in physician assistant programs and in health education. Currently, she's retired and spends her free time writing. She's published many articles in medical journals and consumer magazines.
