The Civil War tore apart our nation. The horror of the war affected all aspects of society including Freemasonry. This is a photographic reprint of the 1861 and 1862 Proceedings of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana - the first half of the Civil War years. The Proceedings provide not only a look at how this Grand Lodge dealt with the war, but the normal activities that may seem foreign to us today. It is a snapshot into a distant and important time.
