The Cow Chase (reprint)

The Cow Chace is an epic poem by John André, a British army officer during the American Revolution. The poem tells the story of a raid on cattle herds by American forces, and the daring escape executed by the British troops. This is a fascinating account of a little-known incident of the Revolutionary War, and an excellent example of 18th century poetry.
