The Curators

When Becky Cheshire is offered the chance of returning to protect the dead body of her baby from the flames consuming her flat, she little understands the life before her. Caught up in her role as grieving mother and wife, having also lost her husband in the conflagration, she finds herself drawn into another role beyond life, as a curator facilitating the passage of the souls of trauma victims into a realm beyond her knowing. The Curators follows her journey through the ineluctable violence of corporate crime, the challenges facing the indigenous and religiously challenged, to the liberation of gender and, ultimately, the interdependent humanity of the spiritual. This is a compelling novel of intensely human proportions. A must read in a literary world free of many meaningful resting places.
