The Dark Days Of October

From those poverty-ridden, childhood days of the Depression, he carries his reader through the struggles of a teenager trying to obtain a quality education in pursuit of his dream--to become a writer or teacher; and, of the personal pleasures forfeited in adulthood...as he struggles to cope with the declining health of both parents.
