The Destiny of Grace

Orphaned at the age of four, Naga Pious was taken in by her uncle. Four years later

she was propelled on destiny's path when she was captured by slave-runners from

Africa, taken on board a ship bound for America and forced to endure months of

dreadful conditions along with hundreds of other captives. She narrowly escaped

being sold on the auction block when Adam Carter, a Virginia plantation owner,

discovered her nearly dead body behind an old shed. e child stole the Carters'

hearts and they christened her with a new name - Grace. After losing their only

child to scarlet fever, Adam and Louise absorb Grace into their family as one of their

own.
