The Destiny of Salmon

Set in 1979, The Destiny of Salmon is the story of the unforgettable summer 16-year-old Peter Kristiansen spends as a crew member on his dad's commercial fishing boat in the dangerous waters of the Alaska Panhandle. Torn between his separated parents' different ways of life, his father's obsessive chase for a huge haul of salmon, and his own search for love, Peter thinks, "Maybe I would have run away, if I had some place to go.
