Elliot is hiding in his world of boats from a past that has wounded him because of his mixed race heritage. He’s anti-authoritarian, lacking direction and broke. He meets Emma, an academic, who is on her own perilous mission. Kai is a Chinese triad gang leader, and all too familiar with violence. He is now questioning his life, and seeking hope and redemption. 

The three of them meet in Hong Kong in the 1970's. It is a place where money is king, corruption is rife, and the secret societies of the triads are flourishing.
