The Edible Oil Industry in Sudan and Egypt

" This study analyses the perspectives of industrialisation in Africa, taking the example of edible oil industry, one of the historical and most important sub-sectors, in two countries. The study focuses on three important aspects for success of industry: the linkages between industry and agriculture, the performance of public and private enterprises, and the impact of government policy on the sector. The results challenge conventional views on the determinants of industrial succes.
