The Gifts That Grow

The second picture book from Monika Singh Gangotra this is a sequel to the incredible Sunflower Sisters. These picture books are ground breaking in exploring the issue of colourism. Monica describes this book as a tale of generational love expressed through the importance of nurturing our environment for future generations to enjoy. Amritas nani travelled from India to be with her family when Amrita was born, and brought with her a Jamun tree seedling which they planted in the garden to represent new life and love.
