The Gimpy Monologues

Gimpy: adjective. Usually Disparaging and Offensive. a term used to refer to a person who limps or is lame. But within the disability community, it is sometimes a term of self-reference. Monologue: any composition, as a poem, in which a single person speaks alone. Captain Gimpy (aka Ronald Brady) and his small but dynamic group of collaborators take you inside the lives of people living with various life challenges or "disablities" as they are often called, to share a much needed fresh perspective on the hopes, hurdles, and humors they, and others like them face daily. The Captain and his cohorts begin the journey this book will take you on by speaking alone together, in the hope that one day, the monologues will become an open dialog; a part of a much larger conversation.
