The Guitarist is a romantic novel about a successful rock group set mostly in 1977, the momentous year when Elvis died. It was a time when Country Rock was hitting it's peak and promiscuity was raging it's fullest roar. The band tours throughout the country briefly visiting Beale Street in Memphis, the birthplace of rock and roll. The story features a child with Down's Syndrome whose intelligence impresses all those fortunate enough to know her. It contains a champion womanizer who's camaraderie towards his friends touches them all. It includes Vietnam Veterans striving for absolution and young, pretty girls who'll believe anything a handsome guitarist tells them. It involves people who've lost all hope for success and some for life itself. One young man brings them all together into his world, with a belief in love, magic and a pair of blue suede shoes that symbolically bind him with the people he loves most. It's whimsical antics will make you laugh and it's heart wrenching songs will make you cry but most of all it will give you hope to live and love to your fullest capabilities.
