They've grown up on the fishing piers of Harbor Cove, and have celebrated life's ups and downs on Pavilion Beach.

Betty Sue's the only one to move away, leaving her mother in charge of raising her seven-year-old child, so she can accompany her new rich husband around the world.

Decades later, she returns home a widow, facing a mom with dementia, a daughter who hates her, and friends who aren't afraid to judge her mistakes. But when the brunch club discovers that Betty Sue's new beau is hiding something, it's up to them to save their friend from danger.

Who are these ladies? Jean, a retired art teacher, content with her life; Terri, a fisherman's wife, who tries to ignore both physical and emotional pain; Kelly, a successful realtor, still missing the husband she's separated from; Peg, a disgruntled reporter, tired of being disrespected as a woman; Arlene, a quiet homemaker who finds solace in her knitting; and Betty Sue, a rich widow who doesn't like being single. 

Through the challenges of raising children, losing husbands, caring for ailing parents, and dealing with aging bodies, this group of friends have learned a valuable truth: Some of life's deepest friendships are maintained over brunch.
