The Ice

The unexpected death of a senior officer sets US Navy pilot Jake Covey in charge of McMurdo Station, the remote American base in Antarctica. As they prepare for the cold and darkness during months of winter-over isolation, a young Russian scientist, Oksana Zverev, schemes to get to McMurdo and the former Soviet outpost of Vostok Station.

Tensions between the once-competing superpowers fix Jake at the intersection of espionage and greed, science and romance, in a web of characters with unclear motives as he tries to uncover a killer and vanquish his hidden demons.
