The Inspector chronicles the life, including the personal tragedies and struggles on the job, of Daniel Ross, an irascible, mean-spirited inspector in the New York City Police Department. But he wasn't always that way.

With vivid, descriptive language, this poignant story captures the power of love as well as the ravages of rejection and deep loss. Daniel's life illustrates that love can take a person to unimaginable heights, making them a better, more noble version of themselves. However, the loss of love, or the rejection from someone a person loves, can take a person to incomprehensible, even unbearable lows, making them unrecognizable-even to themselves.
