The Kingdom of the Occult

The occult is a rapidly growing global religious practice. Occult practices permeate every hierarchical echelon throughout human civilization. The origins of witchcraft, sorcery, mediums and soothsayers are as ancient as the first Mesopotamian civilization. People are captivated by supernatural activities for which there is no scientific explanation. We want the power to know what is unknowable. More specifically, the populace desires detailed information about its future (horoscope). Governments, especially those with religious rudiments that underscore its constitutional structure, covet the ability to influence the minds of its citizenry. It is our lust to know the unknowable and control what is uncontrollable that drives us to explore by any means necessary, including dark magic or occultism.
