The Knight-Charger

In ‘The Knight-Charger’, David Freeman uses the image and legend of Saint George and the dragon to question the present English educational system. He asks whether the politics of education in this age could learn some lessons from the past: in particular the shaping of character, integrity, zeal and a laudable objective for the lives of our young people. Are we emphasising evidence of academic attainment to the detriment of valuing character and the worth of every individual? Is government undermining the rights and choices of parents by imposing statutory laws which may deny those rights? The book does not only diagnose faults but proposes positive courses of action. It is hoped that the influencers in society will be caused to reconsider the policies they promote.
