This book traces the development of Greek civilization from the early creation myths, the appearance of language, the epics and early thinkers through to the philosophers of the classical period. Each development is compared with Hindu civilization, showing how the European tradition is strictly Indo-European, in terms of language, symbolism and philosophy. It gives the theoretical and historical background to the development of Indo-European languages. This new edition contains a new introduction and additional appendix.
