The Letters of Robinson Crusoe

Birds of Paradise Island, off the NE windward side of Tobago, derives its name from the Birds ofParadise brought from New Guinea in the early 1900's by Sir William Ingram. His heirs donatedthe island as a perpetual bird sanctuary, and it now hosts some 45 species of exotic birds. TheBirds of Paradise did not survive a hurricane in 1963. However, they continue to thrive in nativeNew Guinea. The author, shown here on the island, (also called Little Tobago) RoySchenkenberger (pen name Robin Kreutznaer) resides with his wife in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and winters in Southern California. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
