This book is dedicated to all those who have proudly and faithfully worn a badge before me.

They upheld the law by Protecting and Serving.

They are the thin blue line that holds back the chaos.
This book is also for those who will come after me. Your job is going to be harder than it was for those that came before you. I hope you find a few words of wisdom within these pages. May that wisdom help you in your endeavors to uphold the Law, and in your duty to Protect and Serve the citizens of this great nation.

"Sir, please put your right hand on the steering wheel," I commanded in a loud clear voice.
"No!" The driver answered.
I shifted my stance a little, adjusted my hand on my holstered pistol and again in a louder, slightly more authoritative voice commanded the driver follow my instructions.
"Sir, put both of your hands on the steering wheel where I can see them. Do it now!"
