The Long Wandering

Life has been anything but easy for Marcia. Her struggles have been long and hard, but with the tenacity of a lioness, she continues her journey of survival. Marcia first appeared on the scene as she shares the sexual abuse committed against her at the age of twelve by her prominent government official godfather, which was consented by her mother, who was highly paid for the abuse of her daughter. Her struggles continue at home at the hands of her mother, whose physical, emotional, and physiological abuse keeps her imprisoned in a cycle of fear, low self-esteem, and loss of faith. Freedom came when she got the opportunity to leave the Island, and travel to Canada in search of a better life. The price of that freedom was high. Her two young daughters had to be left behind. Marcia's determination to sponsor her children takes her from Canada to Florida, where she is unexpectedly reunited with her lost love. Their marriage brings about her greatest desire, bring her children to America. The price exacted proves to be high.
