Ariella's world is about to change in ways she abhors, but she can't stop it. She is gifted by the gods of her underwater world, and the ritual must take place.

But even the gods never prepared her people for the arrival of others. Others who looked like they did when they morphed their tails into legs. Others who possessed strange magic, magic from the stars themselves. 

Their arrival could allow Ariella a way out of the ritual, but is she prepared to be the tool of the gods in the way her world needs her to be if it means a sacrifice larger than even the ritual required?
