Abandoned by his commanding officer and presumed dead by all but his young daughter Angelina, Philip discovers a shocking secret no other human has ever known: the Man in the Moon is real and there's an entire "world" that thrives beneath its surface. But this world-on whose light, whose tidal regulations, whose perpetual presence our own Earth depends-is under grave peril as its energy source is dwindling swiftly, with no solution in sight.
