This book is about love, hurt, and teenage angst back in the Swinging Sixties. Its themes are a troubled family and the innocence of teenage years.

Mm, the Swinging Sixties. We thought we had it all: freedom of speech, freedom of movement, sex, the pill, alcohol, fashion, women's lib, and, of course, the Beatles and Doctor Who. We also held the fear of the cold war, star wars, nuclear annihilation, and apartheid.

The public face matters to some extent, but what goes on privately, behind closed doors, is what shapes and develops the individual. The emotional and hormonal experience spans all generations. The difference is in how we challenge, exhibit, and deal with the hustle and bustle of our own experiences.
