A solitary log house sits alone in the scrub landscape just up the dirt road from the south shore of Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Built of hand-hewn cedar logs around 1860 by Moses Hudgin and his sons, the building is a remarkable survivor that holds the memories of many generations of the Hudgin family who were born, grew up and thrived in this rustic family home.
This is the story of six generations of Hudgins, from Moses and his wife, Ann Mouck, to their great-great-great-grand daughter, Laura, all of whom lived in, worked at or played around the log house.
This heritage building, one of the last remaining vestiges of early settlement in Canada, is now being restored. Profits from the sale of this book will help to revitalize the Moses Hudgin log house.
