The Moving Day Mystery

Many years ago, when my daughter was a five year old, we decided to build a new home before she attended kindergarten. She was eager to help with new ideas for the home, she met a new friend who would be living nearby, and we visited her new school. However, one day her enthusiasm changed. What happened? Our family was puzzled until the final day of moving when the mystery was solved.

My daughter is now a teacher, a wife, and the mother of two young girls, so apparently the dilemma she faced as a young child didn't affect her.
