This book is about, and what it isn't about. First off, this is a fictional "personal" history of the Third Gomer War. It is written from the perspective of the main character, General of the Army, Michael Patrick, and it follows certain military guidelines in the telling. For example, titles are capitalized, which is standard military language. Even in the most boring Army Field Manual, any reference to rank is going to be capitalized. Otherwise, there is confusion between "in general" and "the General." Another point to consider is purely historical in nature. When General George S. Patton, Jr. wrote his memoirs, (albeit through a shadow writer), it was often using the first person. This wasn't unusual, since this was also done by Admiral William Frederick "Bill" Halsey, Admiral Chester Nimitz, and others when they told of their personal experiences in World War II.
