The sequel to SKELETON WOMEN, set in 1930s Shanghai and Hong Kong. After successfully escaping Shanghai to Hong Kong, former socialite Camilla soon realizes that she has not found the easy life she hoped for. Her sleep is invaded by dreams of her stillborn baby Jinjin. And she cannot forget her two lovers: Gao and Jinying. Fearful that one or all were killed, Camilla returns to Shanghai, fearful that if discovered she will be subjected to a slow and excruciating death.
