The Ocean Between

This work is intended for ages 12+. The year is 1874. After her father is accused of being a traitor, Isabelle de Montigny, a fifteen-year-old French Huguenot girl, flees France with her family. She leaves behind a life of luxury and a young officer whom she loves. In a vivid portrait of the past, we follow Isabelle's adjustment to the new world of Quebec and the discovery of her true desires and aspirations.
