The Oxford Book of Latin American Poetry

This is the first anthology of its kind, to include on one volume the multilingual range of poetries created in Latin America in the last 500 years. Starting with the indigenous response to the conquest, it encompasses oral, written and visual poetries, as they continue to be performed today. From the literary giants of Neruda and Borges to the more obscure Valera and Rossi, the co-editors have selected the best translations available, or, when none or only bad versions exist, comissioned new translations.
