Sydney Garcia has the perfect life, the perfect family, and the perfect friends. She's known what she has been meant to do since she was a young child, set in place by her father who is the police chief of her small town in Indiana. She is the picture of a perfect child but she wants something more than her small town can provide her.

Phoebe Connors is everything Sydney Garcia is not. She wanted nothing more than to leave her hometown, but that was before her sister died taking with her the only ticket out of Indiana. With no one left to protect her from the abuse she has endured from her father since she was a child, Phoebe lets herself drown out the pain with substances her sister tried so hard to protect her from.

That is until Phoebe meets Sydney, changing her entire view on life. Sydney is convinced Phoebe will give her the escape from the plan she has laid out before her, but what if Sydney can't even protect Phoebe from herself?
