The Passion Play

A controversial religious play depicts Christ as a woman. Left to raise her youngest daughter alone, Mary surveys suburban life with unearthly insight, recalling the strange and tragic events surrounding her oldest daughter's murder. Mary uncovers a story heavy with alarming truths about the dark side of human nature, and the apocalyptic violence and cruelty that men and women are capable of. A deeply poetic, often terrifying glimpse behind the walls of secret, at the evil that churns beneath cultured civility.
