The central government was also keen on silencing any voice conflicting to their policy and Nichiren vehemently opposed the request from the state that all temples and shrines should pray for Japan's victory over the Mongols.Once Nichiren settled in Minobu and could concentrate on his predication without being constantly attacked, his friends and followers became even closer and the seamlessly functioning group dynamics became more sophisticated and advanced.During the eight years that Nichiren dwelled in Minobu, his career peaked to such heights that made him one of the great leaders and teachers in the history of Japanese Buddhism.
