The series, over 15 years in the making, involves sculpture and other objects made from the parts of old pianos, that evolved into a complex legend featuring the artifacts of a lost civilization and the possible creation of an elaborate hoax by an artistic madman piano-tuner from the 19th century. Images of masks and weapons, musical instruments and games, shelters and vehicles, all made out of piano parts help tell the tale, along with "historical" writings, paintings, prints, vintage graphics, and scholarly documentation, in this multi-disciplinary, tongue-in-cheek story about art, history, cultural appropriation, and the beauty of piano parts.
