The Power of One

The Power of One: Evolution in Math is a new way of doing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Developed for blind students to make it easier to work mathematical problems on the Perkins brailler, this exciting advancement is also enjoyed by sighted students.

The Power of One is a book about doing the operations of arithmetic by hand (no calculator), using the natural or counting numbers. As such, the emphasis is on process, rather than on arrangement, but there are both new processes and arrangements discussed that you won’t have encountered in public school.
