The last hope for a dying race is a dying hero.

After ten generations the Journeycraft Starshine has returned home to Uma following an unsuccessful mission in deep space. Having long served as the pillars for order in the Umae community, the Journeyers discover they are the last of their kind. Their long absence has resulted in Umae society's near collapse. An ancient warlike enemy has re-emerged after a millenium of absence and threatens the peaceful Uma with extinction.

Min, the Starshine's Command Agent, is a generational genius. Afflicted with a terminal illness, he has come home to die. As he confronts the reality of his own mortality, Min must attempt one last miracle to save his people. Racing to discover the location of Haven, a planet long believed to be the key to the Umae's salvation, Min discovers that Umae society has been built upon a deception older than written history. In order to save the Umae Min must unravel the mystery behind this grand deceit. Can a dying hero save his dying race? And after a lifetime of sacrifice in service to his people, what is Min willing to risk to have the only thing he's ever really wanted?
