The Quantuum Effect

Climate change stems from current measurements of economic performance that are rooted in market-based capitalism. The Quantuum Effect proposes a new measurement of economic performance which promotes environmental protection instead of exploitation and destruction.

Our collective efforts to protect our environment have been pitted against a "global economy" that uses indices of performance focused on the insatiable pursuit of commercial profit and greed. Such indices, like the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and stock market activity, have been among our principle measures of economic performance long before any critical public concern over the environment. 

As a result, today we're in a milieu in which our driving desire for "economic growth" undermines our desire to protect our environment in a sustained manner. 

By rejuvenating or replacing statistical measures of economic performance which value the insatiable pursuit of commercial profit and greed with those which value the protection of the quality of our environment, we can better achieve the quality-of-living goals which have evolved since the vastly polluting and oppressive Industrial Revolution.
