The Red Movement

We are in the midst of a human rights and environmental crossroads. The death of George Floyd and the civil unrest that followed revealed the endemic nature of racism in America. The Black Lives Matter Movement is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to understanding, confronting, and dismantling systemic racism, discrimination, and injustices in America and around the world.

This book deals with these issues straight on as a call to arms, a searing inditement against the injustices embedded into our modern world today. Behind the glittering facade of globalization exists a dirty truth - more people are living in slave-like conditions today than ever before in history. While the world declares itself 'slave free, ' the truth is just the opposite. People are still bought and sold in public auctions, forced to sell their bodies, or work in hidden factories under unbearable conditions. Some even toil away on farms and construction sites on some of the world's most famous sporting events.

The forced labor of slaves can be linked back to certain toys we buy, clothes we wear, and even foods we eat. Slave labor is used in mining, and too often those basic raw materials find their way into electronics, computers, smartphones, cars, cosmetics, and even jewelry. Modern-day slavery, also known as human trafficking, is more lucrative now than during the transatlantic slave trade by bringing in more than 30 billion dollars every single year.

These difficult truths have led to the start of The RED Movement, a global call for awareness, advocacy, and action to stop all forms of modern-day slavery while revealing its mysterious connection to the environment. This book reveals how the exploitation of humans and the exploitation of the Earth are connected.
