For three centuries of America's history there has been a relentless and largely successful attempt to deconstruct manhood as it had come to be understood for millennia up until that time. While this sexual paradigm shift was ostensibly a function of certain newly-perceived "rights" being accorded to women in the spheres of religion, the home, education, and politics which necessarily cut into what had previously been viewed as "man's domain," at the same time, the suddenness and virulence which accompanied these alterations suggest that this may have been part of a larger and more insidious agenda. On what grounds can I make such a stunning allegation? Here is what you need to know. From the biblical perspective, what has come to be described as "patriarchy" does not have its basis in misogyny as is routinely asserted, but is rather based on the respective roles assigned to men and women in the creation of humankind. Therefore, it must be understood that the assault on manhood is ultimately an assault on the authority of the God Who assigned those roles. As we observe this process continuing into our present time by the combined forces of the government, society, and media, we must be prepared to assess the consequences of this paradigm shift. Aside from what it says about our relationship to our Creator, what ought to be of greatest concern are the consequences for the foundational unit of a healthy society, that is, the family.
