The Remarkable Housewives of the Bible

Today, television viewers are consistently pummeled with scenes of catfights, yelling matches and petty arguing amongst women.  Themes of greed, cattiness, disrespect for others and selfishness pervade so much of what we see on our favorite reality / guilty pleasure shows.  Sadly, these tales are not followed by a positive message or anecdote encouraging personal growth.

However, there is something so scintillating, so intriguing, and so addictive about such shows that so many of us sequester ourselves on the couch, often with a group of girlfriends, several nights each week to soak up more of that exact kind of unrealistic drama.  While these girls’ nights are excellent venues to cultivate lifelong friendships, it seems there must be much more worthwhile means of entertainment.

Enter: The Remarkable Housewives of the Bible series.

The women of the Bible also happen to provide intriguing “soap opera-esque” stories, full of plenty of drama (often even more salacious) of their own.  However, their tales are accompanied by lessons from the Lord rooted in strength, unconditional love, survival, fortitude, forgiveness, faith, and the importance of leaving a positive legacy for future generations.
