An understanding of child protection is part of good practice for all early years settings. Workers and students who have regular contact with children and families have a central role to play because of their knowledge of and concern for individual children. Yet, if unpreapred, early years workers can find themselves on the sidelines of child protection, uncertain about the best action to take.
